A one-year-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident on a busy highway near Toronto recently. Ontario residents can suffer serious injuries in car accidents. Many of those injuries can lead to death. This crash happened shortly after midnight when the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle, according to an OPP constable.

The vehicle in which the baby was a passenger also had a four-year-old male passenger who suffered a broken leg. The driver and a passenger in the front seat were not injured. The male driver of the vehicle that crashed into the was uninjured as well. The four-year-old was treated in hospital and has been released.

A preliminary investigation found the vehicle with the children was stopped on either the roadside or in a lane when it was rear ended. There is no known reason why the vehicle was stationary. Police say no charges have been laid, and the investigation is continuing.

People filing claims are usually overwhelmed with other matters concerning health, family and work. Retaining a lawyer will make sure that nothing falls through any cracks in the civil claims process. A lawyer could be an integral part of the compensation package to which those suffering injures may be entitled.

Ontario residents who have been hurt in car accidents are usually dealing with physical and emotional trauma and need time to heal from their injuries. A personal injury lawyer will gather and look at all evidence. He or she will get expert opinions and rifle through all the paperwork to prepare to take the issue to court if need be.
