A recent multi-vehicle crash in Mississauga has resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man. The Queen Elizabeth Highway (QEW) is one of Ontario's busiest and sees its share of crashes, but this particular car accident on July 13 sent six people to hospital, including the deceased resident who lived in Mississauga. A 12-year-old boy, also in hospital due to injuries suffered in the accident, is expected to survive.

The crash happened in the westbound lanes of the QEW near Cawthra Road at around 11 a.m. An Ontario Provincial Police spokesperson said that after an investigation, it appears like one driver did not reduce speed when traffic began to slow on the highway and crashed into another vehicle. The initial crash caused a chain reaction of car accidents.

There could be one driver at fault in a multi-vehicle crash, or more than one. There could also be more than one reason for the accident. It is unlikely that a passenger of any vehicle involved is at fault in an accident. If the deceased was a passenger, his or her family will likely be able to launch a wrongful death lawsuit against the person(s) believed responsible for the crash. Those injured in a car accident in Ontario can also file personal injury suits in a similar manner.

It makes good sense for Ontario residents who have suffered injuries in a car crash to rely upon the experience of a personal injury lawyer. The pain and suffering caused by injuries in a car accident can take a toll on a person's life. A lawyer will take the legal burden off the client so that he or she may focus on the sometimes long road to recovery.
